TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/11/14 -- iShares (TSX: SVR)(TSX: SVR.C), the industry-leading exchange-traded fund (ETF) business at BlackRock Asset Management Canada Limited (BlackRock Canada), an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of BlackRock, Inc. (BlackRock), is notifying unitholders of iShares Silver Bullion ETF (SVR) regarding a change in the pricing source used in the valuation of silver bullion.
Following the announcement by The London Silver Market Fixing Limited that it will cease to administer the London silver fixing with effect from close of business on August 14, 2015, an alternative London daily silver price mechanism, the "London Silver Price", is expected to be available from August 15th, 2014. Such price is to be administered by CME Group and Thomson Reuters.
With effect from August 15, 2014, SVR expects to use the new pricing source for valuing silver bullion when determining the net asset value of SVR.
This change in pricing source will not affect SVR's investment objective and strategies which will continue to replicate the performance of the price of silver bullion, less SVR's fees and expenses, by investing in long-term holdings of unencumbered silver bullion in 1,000 troy ounce international bar sizes.
