BEIJING (dpa-AFX) - Cninsure Inc (CISG), an insurance intermediary company in China, Monday reported second-quarter net earnings to stockholders of RMB$55 million or $8.9 million, compared with RMB$20.9 million last year.
On a per American depositary share basis, earnings for the quarter were RMB$1.10 OR $0.18, compared with RMB$0.42 a year ago.
Revenues for the quarter were higher at RMB$508.9 million or $82 million, compared with RMB$421.3 million in the prior year.
The company said it is upbeat about future prospects and believes it has the right strategy to achieve strong sustainable growth.
Cninsure stock closed Monday at $6.99, up $0.02 or 0.29%, on a volume of 84k shares on the Nasdaq. In after hours, the stock gained $0.48 or 6.87 at $7.47.
