Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is pleased to announce the renewal of the TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) partnership with TD Bank Group and the Toronto Public Library. The TDSRC is a free and inclusive bilingual program offered in Canadian public libraries that creates an opportunity for children and their families to make reading a fun part of their summer. TD Bank Group has committed to a contribution of $5 million that will allow the partners to continue this incredibly valuable program for the next three years.
For well over a decade now, LAC has developed TD Summer Reading Club programming and coordinated the TDSRC with participating provincial and territorial public libraries and associations. It handles the distribution of program materials (1.4 million pieces) across Canada and plays an important role in developing all of the French-language content for the TDSRC. LAC also administers the annual TDSRC Library Awards.
This major partnership endorses LAC's commitment to being an important source of knowledge and supporter of cultural, social and economic advancement, and is founded on a shared belief in the importance of literacy.

"While the definition of the word 'book' is being transformed by the digital age, the love of reading, and the worlds which it can illuminate, are as potent a source of joy and discovery as ever.
