The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, on behalf of the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced $170,000 in funding to Synchro Canada.
This funding, provided through Sport Canada's Hosting Program, supports the 13th FINA Synchronized Swimming World Cup. This event is being held at the Pavillon de l'education physique et des sports at Universite Laval in Quebec City from October 2 to 5, 2014.

-- The FINA Synchronized Swimming World Cup is held every four years. The
2014 event is attracting 107 athletes from 17 countries.
-- Sport Canada's Sport Support Program is providing nearly $1,409,000 to
Synchro Canada during the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
-- Sport Canada's Athlete Assistance Program provided up to $426,000 to 45
Canadian synchronized swimmers to assist with living, training, tuition
and special needs expenses in 2013-2014.
