WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - C. R. Bard, Inc. (BCR) reported third-quarter net income of $131.3 million or $1.69 per share, compared to $93.2 million or $1.15 per share, prior year. Adjusted net income was $149.2 million or $2.15 per share, for the quarter.
On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $2.10 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales were $830.0 million, an increase of 9 percent over the prior-year period on both an as reported and constant currency basis. Analysts expected revenue of $818.88 million for the quarter.
