WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - United States Steel Corporation (X) Tuesday reported third-quarter net loss of $207 million or $1.42 per share, compared to $1.79 billion or $12.38 last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $2.16 per share, compared with loss of $0.14 per share last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose to $4.59 billion from $4.40 billion last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report an earnings per share of $1.17 on revenues of $4.56 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
