WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - McKesson Corp. (MCK) reported net income for the second quarter of $469 million or $1.99 per share, compared to $404 million or $1.74 per share or the year-ago quarter.
Second quarter earnings per share from continuing operations was $2.05, compared to $1.82 in the prior year quarter.
Excluding items, second quarter adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations was $2.79, up from $2.30 a year ago.
Revenues for the second quarter rose 36% to $44.76 billion from $32.99 billion last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $2.73 per share on revenue of $42.99 billion for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said it continues to expect fiscal year 2015 adjusted earnings to be $10.50 to $10.90 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $10.81 per share for the fiscal year 2015.
