Finals day in the BWF Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals at the Hamdan Sports Complex delivered some gripping matches and the China finished the day with two titles.

World champion Chen Long finished the year on a high, winning the BWF Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals title with relative ease over Hans-Kristian Vittinghus; 21-16 21-10 in 47 minutes.
The delighted Chen Long commented on his fourth major title of the season. "I'm happy with my game. I came out and played my best game possible. This is the first time Dubai is hosting such a big event and I'm very happy with the way it was organised. I would like to promote the sport in places where it is not yet popular, so people will get attracted to badminton."
The first match of the day was the men's doubles where China's Chai Biao and Hong Wei were beaten today by Korea's Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong; 19-21 21-19 21-16.
Next center court saw the Women's Doubles final action with Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi defeat World Champions Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei in straight games: 21-17 21-14.
On losing the Chinese said, "This was far from our expectations to lose today, we need to evaluate our performance and prepare for next year, as it finals like these that are important. We didn't foresee playing with so many problems.
In the Women's Singles Final it was Taipei's, Tai Tzu Ying challenging Sung Ji Hyun of Korea.
Tai Tzu Ying conquered; 21-17 21-12.
Mixed Doubles was an all-China final with Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei playing Lui Cheng/Bao Yixin. The World and Olympic champions Zhang and Zhao had no trouble in seeing off the challenge of their younger compatriots, taking just 41 minutes to complete the formalities in 21-15 21-12.
The pair established a lead from the beginning. From time to time they were troubled by Liu Cheng's big hitting from the back.
"It was important to us that we win the title," said Zhang. "I will come back next year and hope it will be as exciting as it was this year. We will take advantage of the two-month break next year and come back fresh. Of course it is awkward to play your teammates and we wish both pairs could win the title, but this is a sport and there can only be one winner."
