LONDON, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 02/07/15 -- The President of AMAPCEO will hold a special meeting with over 250 Ontario Public Service employees, in his home town of London on Monday, February 9 to defend public services.
AMAPCEO members have elected a new President, Dave Bulmer, who started his term on January 1st after a career in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, most recently based in London. To hear directly from the membership about local issues of privatization and workload, the President is conducting a province-wide tour with stops at worksites around Ontario to discuss how the union should respond to the attack on public services, and good unionized jobs.
AMAPCEO has always considered the government's financial constraints and sought to find amicable ways to work together, but insists cuts and privatization of public services hurt local economies and families. At the meeting members will be asked, "To combat the erosion of good jobs and Ontario's great public services, what should AMAPCEO do in 2015?"
The OurAMAPCEO tour is an initiative of the President to build a strategic plan charting a new course of action for the union, and a means to tackle risky public-private partnership schemes.
