WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Republic Services, Inc. (RSG) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $50.3 million or $0.14 per share, compared to $236.6 million or $0.65 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $178.4 million or $0.50 per share, compared to $193.1 million or $0.53 per share in the prior year quarter.
Revenue for the fourth quarter rose 3.9% to $2.23 billion from $2.14 billion a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.48 per share on revenue of $2.22 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward to the full year 2015, the company forecasts revenue growth of 2.5% to 3.5% and earnings of $1.98 to $2.04 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $2.04 per share on revenue growth of $3.08% for the full year 2015.
