WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (TMO) said Tuesday that its senior vice president and chief financial officer, Peter Wilver, has decided to retire, effective March 31, 2016.
The company said its board of directors has elected Stephen Williamson, currently vice president of financial operations, as Wilver's successor, effective August 1, 2015.
Wilver, who joined Thermo Fisher in 2000 as vice president of financial operations, has served as the company's CFO since 2004. Wilver will work with Williamson during the ensuing months to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities, and will remain an active member of the company Leadership Team until his retirement in March 2016.
Williamson, 48, joined Thermo Fisher in July 2001 as vice president, European financial operations, based in the U.K., and subsequently served as the finance lead for the Informatics and Services, and Environmental Instruments businesses. He was named vice president of finance for Analytical Technologies in 2006, and two years later became vice president of financial operations for the company.
