NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/10/15 -- ACT Aurora Control Technologies Corp. ("Aurora" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: ACU) is pleased to announce the receipt of two orders from SEMCO Engineering for its industry-leading, Decima inline measurement system with Veritas™ software. The Decima and Veritas products will be installed at two confidential PV cell manufacturers.
These orders feature new Decima technology that measures three lanes across every wafer as they emerge from the annealing or diffusion furnace at full production rates. Aurora's patent pending Veritas software displays the resultant emitter profiles in three dimensions thus monitoring the quality of each and every wafer from the furnaces, comparing them with specifications and allowing operators to adjust and optimize the furnace parameters for higher yield of top quality cells.
These orders follow the unveiling of the Veritas system at the 2014 Taiwan International Photovoltaic Exhibition in October, 2014. "For the first time ever, furnace suppliers and cell producers can see a reliable, accurate and repeatable profile being measured after the annealing or diffusion furnace and understand the degree of variability," said Greg Ayres, Aurora's Chief Operating Officer. He went on to say "the market introduction of the Veritas system led to a series of meetings with leading furnace manufacturers culminating in these orders for multi-lane Decimas on two production lines."
"SEMCO chose Aurora's products for integration into our state-of-the-art emitter formation product line because of their proven ability to accurately and consistently measure PV wafers at full production speed of 2500 wafers/hour," said Claude Giral, SEMCO's PV Product Director. Mr. Giral also stated "the Aurora system uniquely enables our customers to fully visualize the superior sheet resistance uniformity produced by our LYDOP and LYTOX series furnaces."
