110 Ministers and 5,000 Delegates expected from 142 countries
Doha, Qatar. April 11, 2015. His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar will inaugurate the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice tomorrow, 12 April 2015, at Qatar National Convention Center in Doha.
The 5,000 attendees from 142 countries will be led by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Presidents of the UN General Assembly and the UN Economic and Social Council and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Office.
More than 110 top level guests -- prime ministers, ministers of interior, foreign affairs and justice and public prosecutors -- are also expected in the event which concludes on 19 April 2015.
"Qatar is fully prepared to host the 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice," said Maj. Gen. Abdullah Yousuf Al Mal, Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Interior of Qatar and Chairperson of the Preparatory Committee of the 13th UN Crime Congress.
Ms. Jo Dedeyne Amann, Secretary of the 13th Congress said, "Qatar has set very high standards in preparing for this Congress. I would like to pay tribute to our hosts, particularly to His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nassar Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior who will be the Congress President."
