
CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/22/15 -- ATK Oilfield Transportation Inc. ("ATK" or the "Company") today announced the election of Pat G. Powell to its Board of Directors.
Joining his family's company in 1980, Pat managed H.L. Powell and its growth through several satellite branches across northern BC and Alberta before becoming President in 1985. In the years following, Pat facilitated several acquisitions and expanded operations to even more locations, continually broadening H.L. Powell's service offerings.
In 1999, Pat started an inventory software company, developing proprietary software that is still in use today. Pat continued expanding his family business, building an expansive drilling mud warehousing and oilfield transportation operation, fluid hauling and rig matting divisions.
Pat sold H.L. Powell to Producers Oilfield Services Inc. ("Producers") in 2005 but remained involved in daily operations, assuming the role of Chairman and President of Producers through the $1B merger with Mullen Transportation Inc. ("Mullen") in 2006. After the merger, Pat became Co-CEO of Mullen until 2007 and remained on the Mullen board through 2011. Pat has also been involved with other oilfield services companies, acting as Chairman of Bonnett's Energy Services from 2008 until 2014 as well as serving as a director of Highkelly Drilling Ltd., Standard Exploration Ltd. and Clarke Inc.
