CHARLESTON, WV -- (Marketwired) -- 06/11/15 -- Honoring a "spirit to serve" philosophy, the Charleston Marriott Town Center hotel in downtown Charleston, WV has accepted a community service challenge to create 200 survival kits to be donated to the YWCA Sojourner's Shelter for Women and Families and the Charleston Men's Shelter.
During the month of June, 2015, the Charleston Marriott Town Center will serve as a drop off location for the items needed to assemble the survival kits. On June 29th, a team of volunteers will assemble the kits and distribute them to the shelters.
"Giving back to the community is important to us," said Sean Evans, Human Resource Coordinator for the Charleston Marriott. "The 411 Challenge provides a meaningful way for us to help people in need."
The 411 Foundation is a Columbus, Ohio based organization with the mission of building and sustaining healthy communities through community engagement. From "back to school" drives to donor matching, 411 works to involve the community in giving back, and in turn, devotes resources to the education and training of young adults within that community.
