WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Teradyne, Inc. (TER) reported second quarter net income of $102.9 million or $0.48 per share compared to $101.2 million or $0.47 per share, last year. On a non-GAAP basis, Teradyne's net income in the second quarter was $114.6 million, or $0.53 per share.
On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.45 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue was $513 million compared to $526 million, prior year. Analysts expected revenue of $487.60 million for the quarter.
Guidance for the third quarter of 2015 is revenue of $450 million to $480 million, with non-GAAP net income of $0.35 to $0.41 per share and GAAP net income of $0.27 to $0.33 per share. Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $0.36 on revenue of $455.02 million.
