NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - News Corp (NWS, NWSA) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net loss to common stockholders of $379 million or $0.65 per share, compared with a profit of $12 million or $0.02 per share last year.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.07 per share, compared with $0.01 per share a year ago.
On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.05 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
News Corp's revenues for the quarter were lower at $2.14 billion, compared with $2.19 billion in the prior year. Six analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $2.19 billion for the quarter.
