WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Packaging products company Sonoco Products Co (SON) on Thursday reported second-quarter net earnings of $64.4 million or $0.63 per share compared with $59.4 million or $0.57 per share last year.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.68 per share compared with $0.61 per share a year ago.
Revenues for the quarter were marginally up at $1.25 billion.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.67 per share on revenues of $1.29 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
