WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Crown Holdings Inc. (CCK) reported a profit for third quarter that decreased from last year.
The company said its earnings declined to $186 million, or $1.34 per share. This was down from $188 million, or $1.36 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.31 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 5.0% to $2.46 billion. This was down from $2.59 billion last year.
