WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - C.R. Bard Inc (BCR) reported a profit for its third quarter that advanced from last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $174.7 million, or $2.28 per share. This was up from $166.9 million, or $2.15 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.23 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.3% to $865.70 million. This was up from $830.00 million last year.
