MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - November 07, 2015) - One of Minnesota's own, award-winning reporter Caroline Lowe, returns to the Twin Cities to join the KARE 11 Investigates team, focusing specifically on the Jacob Wetterling Case. This important, heartbreaking news story that has permeated every corner of our state and across the nation over 26 years deserves the attention of our best journalists. In the wake of recent developments, the entire KARE 11 news staff along with KARE 11 Investigates, is working to keep our community aware and updated, not only on this case, but on how we can all make our communities safer and help findjacob.
Caroline Lowe joins KARE 11 reporter Karla Hult and investigators AJ Lagoe and Steve Eckert on the KARE 11 Investigates team. A former WCCO-TV reporter, Lowe has a penchant for developing sources and breaking big stories and covering cold cases. Like others on the KARE 11 staff, Lowe was on the Wetterling case from the beginning and was so influenced by the experience that she continues to follow Jacob's case. Lowe also currently works at KSBY, the NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo, CA, where she just finished a 3-month investigation on Central Coast missing persons, creating the first comprehensive public database of more than 300 missing persons. Lowe is also a member of the findjodi.com team that came together in hopes of solving the case of Jodi Huisentruit.
"I'm truly grateful for this opportunity to investigate the latest developments in the Jacob Wetterling case," said Lowe. "The tragic story of Jacob's unsolved abduction has been extremely important to me for many years."
"It is our responsibility to do our best work every day and take that work to a superior level on this important story," said News Director Jane Helmke. "We are thrilled to have Caroline and her expertise join our great team to serve our community."
Lowe joins KARE 11 Investigates starting Monday, November 9.
