HONG KONG (dpa-AFX) - Hong Kong will on Friday release Q3 figures for gross domestic product, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. In the second quarter, GDP expanded 0.4 percent on quarter and 2.8 percent on year.
Japan will see September figures for industrial production and tertiary industry. In the previous reading, output was called higher by 1.0 percent on month and lower by 0.9 percent on year. The tertiary industry index is expected to add 0.1 percent, unchanged from the August reading.
New Zealand will see October figures for resident bond holdings; in September, the rate was 68.7 percent.
Singapore will provide September numbers for retail sales, which are expected to rise 5.5 percent on year after climbing 6.1 percent in August.
Malaysia will release Q3 numbers for gross domestic product; in the second quarter, GDP was up 1.1 percent on quarter and 4.9 percent on year.
Finally, Japan and South Korea will see September data for the leading and coincident indexes from the Conference Board. Japan's leading index was up 0.2 percent in August, while the coincident fell 0.1 percent. South Korea's leading index slipped 1.2 percent and the coincident added 0.2 percent.
