CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Australia will on Wednesday see November results for the Westpac leading index, headlining a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The index added 0.1 percent on month in October.
Australia also will see November results for skilled vacancies; in October, vacancies were up 0.6 percent on month.
Japan will release final November numbers for machine tool orders; little change is expected from the preliminary reading that suggested a 17.9 percent yearly decline.
South Korea will provide unemployment data for November, with analysts expecting the jobless rate to rise to a seasonally adjusted 3.5 percent from 3.4 percent in October.
The central bank in Thailand will wrap up its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates. The bank is widely expected to keep its benchmark lending rate steady at 1.50 percent.
