TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Japan will on Friday release January figures for consumer prices, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Overall inflation is expected to be flat on year after adding 0.2 percent in December. Core inflation also is called flat following the 0.1 percent gain in the previous month.
Singapore will see January numbers for industrial production, with forecasts suggesting a decline of 2.2 percent on month and 5.1 percent on year. That follows the 2.0 percent monthly increase and the 7.9 percent yearly decline in December.
Taiwan will release industrial production figures for January, with analysts expecting a decline of 6.05 percent following the 6.17 percent contraction in December.
