CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Japan will on Tuesday release final Q4 numbers for gross domestic product, highlighting a busy day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
In February's preliminary reading, GDP contracted 1.4 percent on year and 0.4 percent on quarter after gaining 1.3 percent on year and 0.3 percent on quarter in the three months prior.
Japan also will see January figures for current account and February numbers for bank lending. The current account surplus is called at 700 billion yen, down from 960.7 billion yen in December. Bank lending is called steady at 2.4 percent on year.
Also on tap are February numbers for consumer confidence, and the eco watchers survey. The confidence index is called at 42.2, down from 42.5 in January. The eco watchers survey for current conditions is called at 47.5, while the outlook is at 49.3. They were at 46.6 and 49.5 in January, respectively.
Australia will see February results for the indexes for business confidence and conditions from NAB; in January, their scores were +2 and +5, respectively.
Taiwan will release February numbers for consumer and wholesale prices. CPI is expected to add 0.86 percent on year, up from 0.81 percent. WPI was down 4.82 percent on year in January.
