WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Sturm Ruger & Co Inc (RGR) announced a profit for its first quarter that rose from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $23.28 million, or $1.21 per share. This was higher than $15.50 million, or $0.81 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.96 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 26.4% to $173.11 million. This was up from $136.95 million last year.
