In this A.M.BestTV episode from the annual Bermuda Captive Conference in Bermuda, attendees said they are looking for protective solutions amid a growing global cyber-risk threat to their companies. Click on http://www.ambest.com/v.asp?v=bcc2616nc to view the entire program.
"I would say that cyber risk is really the No. 1 topic," said Janita Burke, client director, Estera. "It has been quite interesting to have a number of hackers gaining access to customer data and then offering to sell or ransom it back to the owners. Companies and captives are looking at solutions and looking for policies to protect them from that, especially some of the health care captives."
"Cyber is certainly part of the conversation," said Susan Pateras, health care practice leader, Iron Starr Excess Agency. "Two or five years ago, it was probably just those people that were on the cutting edge talking about cyber insurance and how they were treating cyber risk. Now, it is really a part of the day-to-day conversation."
Other people who appear in this episode include:
- Tony Weller, chief executive officer, Citadel Risk;
- Gavin Woods, counsel, Appleby;
- Steve Bauman, senior vice president, Zurich Global Corporate; and
- Peter Mullen, chief executive officer, AonCaptive and Insurance Management
