WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - IDEX Corp. (IEX) reported a profit for its second quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $75.76 million, or $0.99 per share. This was up from $69.59 million, or $0.89 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.93 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.8% to $549.70 million. This was up from $514.88 million last year.
