WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) reported earnings for its second quarter that gained ground from last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $27.1 million, or $0.83 per share. This was higher than $26.0 million, or $0.80 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.53 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.0% to $1.21 billion. This was down from $1.26 billion last year.
