PHILADELPHIA (dpa-AFX) - Comcast, the cable network infamous for poor customer service, is once again in the news, this time for billing a customer $1500 for enormous bandwidth consumption.
The network company also refused to provide any evidence that the it customer actually consumed that much data.
Comcast billed a couple in their early 20s, living in Nashville, $1,500 for their home internet service. In their area, the customer had a 300 GB data cap.
The couple, who work for long hours, would have actually used only a mediocre data, however, Comcast's meter calculated that they used 1,750 GB of data in one month and 2,850 the next-- about 5 TB total.
The young couple insisted that they would never have used that much data as they don't work home or run any servers, all they do is watch a few hours of Netflix a day.
