PLEASANTON (dpa-AFX) - Ross Stores Inc. (ROST) reported earnings for its third quarter that increased from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $244.55 million, or $0.62 per share. This was up from $215.6 million, or $0.53 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.56 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 11.2% to $3.09 billion. This was up from $2.78 billion last year.
