WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Juniper Networks (JNPR) released a profit for its first quarter that rose from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $178.0 million, or $0.46 per share. This was up from $142.2 million, or $0.37 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.42 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 10.9% to $1.22 billion. This was up from $1.10 billion last year.
