WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Teradyne Inc. (TER) revealed earnings for its first quarter that increased from last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $88.7 million, or $0.44 per share. This was higher than $64.4 million, or $0.31 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.38 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.0% to $456.91 million. This was up from $430.99 million last year.
