NORTH KANSAS CITY (dpa-AFX) - Cerner Corp (CERN) released earnings for its first quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $197.80 million, or $0.59 per share. This was higher than $182.40 million, or $0.53 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.57 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 10.5% to $1.26 billion. This was up from $1.14 billion last year.
