WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Crown Holdings Inc. (CCK) reported a profit for its third quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $189 million, or $1.41 per share. This was higher than $186 million, or $1.33 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.41 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.0% to $2.47 billion. This was up from $2.33 billion last year.
