REDWOOD SHORES (dpa-AFX) - Oracle Corp. (ORCL) on Friday announced that its President of Product Development Thomas Kurian is resigning.
'Thomas Kurian informed Oracle Corporation that effective immediately he was resigning as President, Product Development to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Kurian's duties and responsibilities have been reassigned to other senior executives in Oracle's development organization,' the software company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Kurian had taken a leave of absence from the company earlier this month, but Oracle said at the time that it was 'an extended time off.'
However, according to an earlier Bloomberg report, Thomas Kurian's leave of absence was due to differences with co-founder Larry Ellison over the software maker's cloud business. It seems that the growing strife between Kurian and Ellison has ended in Kurian's decision to resign.
