WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Juniper Networks (JNPR) released a profit for its third quarter that rose from the same period last year.
The company's bottom line came in at $223.8 million, or $0.64 per share. This compares with $165.7 million, or $0.43 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Excluding items, Juniper Networks reported adjusted earnings of $191.0 million or $0.54 per share for the period.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.45 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company's revenue for the quarter fell 6.3% to $1.18 billion from $1.26 billion last year.
