NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2018 / TIKVA Children's Home celebrates 'The Magic of Hope' this Thursday, November 1st marking more than twenty years of humanitarian assistance and education initiatives that has saved over 2,250 homeless and abused children in Odessa, Ukraine. Odessa is the famous Black Sea port city where hundreds of thousands of Jews perished in the Holocaust. The efforts of TiKVA ("HOPE" in Hebrew) have revitalized Jewish life in Odessa, creating a thriving community one child and family at a time. The venue for the gala - 547 West 26th Str in NYC, former Cedar Lake Ballet venue, is the perfect setting for a festive evening to pay tribute to TiKVA's remarkable supporters and to praise the children, many of whom have transitioned to contributors to Jewish communities worldwide.
This year TiKVA honors Ambassador Danny Danon, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations. Sylvester Stallone, whose Jewish grandparents emigrated from Odessa, will share a special video message about his personal connection to TiKVA. Trivia HQ's Scott Rogowsky, Internationally acclaimed magician Vitaly Beckman, and opera singer David Serero will provide entertainment. Lenny Krayzelburg - Olympic Swimming Champion and TiKVA's board member will also be in attendance. Global affairs analyst Jonathan Wachtel will be the master of ceremonies of the evening.
About TiKVA Children's Home: TiKVA's core mission is to rescue orphaned, abandoned, and abused Jewish children in the Odessa region of the Ukraine by providing a loving home, quality education, Jewish values, and emotional and communal support needed to prepare them for self-sufficient productive lives.
The organization has been recognized as a uniquely successful model for mainstreaming children in need, breaking the cycle of poverty while revitalizing a forgotten Jewish community.
TiKVA's work is exceptionally meaningful as many of the Jewish, once orphaned children of Odessa and its surrounding regions are now the ones leading the charge in the revival of a once vibrant community lost in the Holocaust.
