ST. JULIAN'S, MALTA and VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / January 24, 2019 / Cryptanite Blockchain Technologies Corp. (CSE: NITE, OTCQB: CRBTF, FRA: 98AA) is proud to announce that Cryptanite CTO Henry Duong's work with a partner company has helped to support an Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The event took place in January 2019 and hosted more than 180,000 attendees from across the globe. The Innovation Award underlines the position of Dr. Duong and Cryptanite team members as being at the cutting edge of technical innovation across many interrelated domains.
Alongside his role as Cryptanite CTO, Dr. Duong is also currently serving as CTO at DiagnosisAI, a company he co-founded prior to joining Cryptanite. DiagnosisAI has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) solution which uses natural language processing for providing answers to diagnostic and medical questions for patients. The company has partnered with Higher Ground, a NASA-funded company developing consumer products using satellite communications. DiagnosisAI provides all of the back-end AI algorithms for the Higher Ground product.
The Innovation Award was presented in recognition of the development of the Satpaq, a product developed by Higher Ground in collaboration with Dr. Duong's company, DiagnosisAI. The Satpaq is a device that attaches to a user's existing smartphone, and enables inexpensive, pay-as-you-go messaging by satellite. It covers around 50 percent of the landmass in the US where cellular coverage is unavailable. The product is targeted toward consumers who enjoy recreational activities in remote areas but wish to stay connected.
CES is the world's biggest event of its kind, providing a global stage for innovation in consumer electronics. Previous innovations launched at the show include videocassette recorders in 1970, HDTV in 1998, and driverless car technology in 2013. The Innovation Awards celebrate those that have achieved outstanding product design and engineering in brand-new consumer technology products. The awards cover 28 categories including gaming, smart home and wireless devices, accessories and services. The latter is the category in which the Satpaq was selected for an award.
Dr. Duong was attending the CES in his capacity as CTO for Cryptanite and to showcase the Diagnosis medical AI application. He is delighted that DiagnosisAI was able to share in the success and recognition of the Higher Ground Satpaq product, which was selected as a CES 2019 Innovation Award recipient, and for the recognition this brings to his work on the project. The entire team at Cryptanite would like to congratulate Dr. Duong for this accolade, and extend appreciation for the value that his focus on innovation brings to the company.
