Prague, 4 April 2022 - CZG - Ceská zbrojovka Group SE ("CZG", "the Group" or "the Company") donated a limited-edition CZ 75 TOBRUK pistol to a charity auction to help Ukraine. The auction was organized by the Freedom to Ukraine initiative, in cooperation with Forbes magazine. The pistol was auctioned for 5 million crowns.
The auction took place on 30 March 2022 and its total proceeds went to the collection account of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic. It reached a total amount of CZK 27.8 million.
The limited-edition CZ 75 TOBRUK pistol was prepared by Ceská zbrojovka, a. s., a subsidiary of CZG, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the fighting of Czechoslovak soldiers in Tobruk (21 October 1941 - 10 December 1941). This unique edition commemorates the 739 members of the Czechoslovak Infantry Battalion 11 - East, who in the autumn of 1941, under the command of Lt. Col. Karel Klapálek, along with other Allied troops, joined in the defense of the Libyan port city of Tobruk besieged by strong German-Italian troops.
Among other things, CZG has also participated in material assistance to Ukraine, which it coordinates with representatives of the Czech government, and with which it cooperates in providing assistance by the Czech Republic to Ukraine.
