Fire investigators in the Australian state of New South Wales have determined that a compromised lithium-ion battery was the cause of a recent house fire north of Sydney that killed two people. From pv magazine Australia Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) said the fatal blaze started after a battery was compromised and immediately went into 'thermal runaway,' a process where a lithium-ion cell overheats and gives off toxic gases before exploding in flames.
