DUESSELDORF (dpa-AFX) - Rheinmetall AG (RNMBF.PK) Tuesday announced that it has finalized a framework-contract with the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany, for the delivery of 70mm-practice rockets for combat helicopter Tiger.
The automotive components and defense equipment maker said the armed forces want to procure rockets with a possible order value of over 100 million euros. The initial order is worth a mid-double-digit million euros.
Rheinmetall plans to commence the serial production through 2025 to 2029.
The now ordered practice-rockets allow combat helicopter crews to operate in realistic training scenarios.
The production of the unguided 70 mm rockets will be in cooperation with the Belgian subsidiary FZ of the Thales Group.
