NORTHAMPTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / July 18, 2024 / As part of its supplier diversity program, AEG, a global leader in sports and live entertainment, is helping minority-owned businesses obtain vendor certification through its Vendor Stewardship Program.
The initiative is part of AEG's broader commitment to creating a more diverse supply chain and aims to help minority-owned businesses gain the critical exposure they need to expand their client base.
Each year, AEG selects three vendors to participate in its Vendor Stewardship Program, offering the business owners financial help with the first year's certification fees as well as guidance on the certification criteria, and what documentation is needed to complete the application.
For 2024, AEG selected three vendors who with the company's help have achieved certification as Minority Business Enterprises:
Universal Art Gallery, a Latino-owned custom frame shop
Uprisers, a women-owned street wear company
Terminal B, a Black-owned scented candle business
"By helping BIPOC, veteran, LGBTQ+, and women-owned businesses navigate the certification process and understand its benefits, AEG opens new doors for these vendors, allowing them to expand their client base and access new markets," said Christina Tulfo, Supplier Diversity Manager, AEG. "This support is invaluable for businesses that might otherwise struggle to overcome the initial hurdles of certification and growth."
AEG's Vendor Stewardship Program works closely with a number of national affinity groups that offer small vendors certification opportunities including the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and Veterans In Business Network.
